Description

Established in 2012 at the University of British Columbia, the Allard Prize Photography Competition is awarded annually to individuals who submit enteries that reflect themes of courage and leadership in combating corruption, especially through promoting transparency, accountability, the rule of law, and of human rights and/or anti-corruption generally. Entries that depict corruption and human rights violations in the developed world are also particularly welcome. Nominees could include prominent world leaders, grass roots activists, social movements, charitable groups dedicated to specific social issues or other corporate bodies, whether for-profit or not

Eligibility

  • Individuals who have reached the age of majority in their country of residence at the time of entry from all around the world;
  • Photographs that violate or infringe upon another person’s copyright are not eligible;
  • Entrants may submit up to a maximum of four photographs in each cycle of the Competition. Submission of more than four photographs may result in all photographs submitted by the Entrant being declared ineligible.

Award

Each winning photograph will receive around USD 756 and be featured on the Allard Prize website, with a brief description and the photographer’s name, for six months. Winning entries will be archived as a past winner on the website afterward.
